After the former President Donald Trump abruptly announced on the 1st of June 2017 that the United States is leaving the 2015 Paris Climate Change Mitigation many petitions were launched to persuade him to reverse his planned withdrawal or the state governors to join the Paris Agreement on their own. The American withdrawal ended the night Joe Bidden was sworn-in on the 20th of January 2021.
As part of his first day duties in Office Joe Bidden has signed an order for the United States to rejoin The Paris Climate Agreement, other orders signed by Joe Bidden on his first day include the reversal of the immigration and the trans military ban.
The Paris Agreement will benefit the United States as the country is already experiencing dramatic climate changes, the floods and hurricanes are quite popular with coastal cities and many people are left vulnerable. The Agreement and its historical commitments are essential to reduce the magnitude and effect of this risks.
In his new POTUS twitter account, Joe Bidden simply twitted that “We’re back in the Paris Climate Agreement”
